Emotions and Attraction Part One

I talked last time about our Emotional centre of gravity and this leads us to the Law of Attraction.  I will say this next in a few ways as we all conceptualize a little differently.

  • We know that gravity is a force of attraction so we can say that the emotions we are feeling will bring more of what has us feeling the way we are.
  • The feelings we are ‘in’ will generate more experiences that are in alignment with what we are feeling.
  • As we continue to feel a certain way we continue to attract more experiences of what generates that feeling and the feeling “gets bigger”.
  • We attract more of the same type of experiences and this generates thoughts and patterns of thoughts that generate feelings that generate experiences.
  • We are what we think, feel and do and we live what we are.
  • When we think a thought we have feelings about it and will act in accordance with those feelings.

Everything that is in your life is in alignment with the basic emotional tone your centre of gravity is vibrating.  You might call this a gravity well, whirlpool, or vortex.  These can spiral either up or down.

Take some time to ponder this and see how it relates to your life.

Good explanation, Mary. I remember having a hard time getting the entire gist of this concept when first I heard it, and it’s really hard to see it while you’re in it, so to speak.

    Either way.

One example: I was talking about the general mainstream news with a couple of construction workers outside my building one day a few years ago, and said that I had managed to find all kinds of good news just by looking for it (mostly on the internet). One of the guys then said grouchily and disbelievingly, “Oh, so everything’s really all flowers and happy stuff, is it?” I couldn’t help but smile, but fortunately he was looking away by then. (I wasn’t feeling superior or anything — I could relate to the feeling he was having!)

My friends from home were constantly telling me that I had to “grow up and learn to see and live with reality”. That “reality” sounds like a very unhappy place, and also entirely unchangeable. Yuck! Sometimes people really don’t want to see other people being happy and optimistic, and I think this might be because they realise that they might then have to take a look at what “realities” they’re seeing and accepting in their lives.

At the other end of the spectrum, I’ve created the following scenario a few times, and watched many others do it: said to myself, “I have no right to be this happy, or comfortable, or relaxed,” or, as my dad used to try to “warn” me, “This is just when something’s going to go wrong,” and then created exactly what I had just told myself to expect and accept. Whoopsie.

Louise Hay tells a story about a client discovering that she could throw away her glasses after having thought she was dependent on them for years, and then deciding that that “miracle” wasn’t allowed, so she just didn’t allow it. She managed to have perfect vision for about one day before she decided it wasn’t to be…
